Picture a perfect beach to unwind on. It would be sunny, have wide white sand beaches, sparkling blue water, and a perfectly calm spot for snorkeling. If that’s your idea of perfection, go to Wailea.
Welcome to the sunny side of Maui. Grab your bathing suits, beach towels, and sunscreen, and head to the beach. The sand is pillowy, there’s plenty of room, and the warm water is clear and inviting. A sociable sea creature might even join you as you sunbathe and swim.

Molokini Crater is popular for a reason. This crescent shaped mini island is the best snorkeling spot in all of Hawaii thanks to astoundingly clear water, hundreds of species of colorful fish, and outgoing honu (Hawaiian Sea Turtles).
The 1.5 mile Coastal Nature Trail is a sprawling esplanade lined with native Hawaiian plants and craggy inlets. It’s a great way to wander into a nearby restaurant, and it becomes a prime spot to whale watch in winter.
It’s time to go off the deep end. You can do it several times in Wailea. Dive into water so clear that you can see over 100 feet down. Say “hi” to the fish, honu (sea turtles), and naia (dolphins); They’re friendly. Head to Molokini Crater and Ulua for first-rate snorkeling under pristine conditions.
Calm shores and soft sand make for great swimming. Leeward breezes make for great surfing. Put the two together, and you’ve got the right combination for high-level beach fun. You can’t go wrong with any beach that you pick. Families love Mokapu Beach.
Hawaii is a beautiful place to golf. The courses in South Maui feature heavenly scenery and expert design. Wailea Golf Club has three courses - just be sure to book ahead!
Wailea has a considerable amount of shops and restaurants to satisfy your needs. Pick up a special souvenir from The Shops at Wailea, then stop by Nick’s Fishmarket for dinner. It’s one of the top-rated restaurants on Maui.
